| Watermark Hotel & Spa Company is led by Patrick J. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy also developed La Mansion Hotels, which opened its first hotel in the spring of 1968 in San Antonio, Texas, on the Riverwalk. The Company grew to include a second hotel in San Antonio and a property in Austin. Mr. Kennedy has broad experience in the development and operation of luxury hotels.
In addition to his involvement with La Mansion and the Watermark, Mr. Kennedy is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, an association of 110 independent luxury hotels in North America, Canada, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, including many of the world’s most prestigious hotels.
In December 2003, Kennedy opened the Watermark Hotel & Spa, which opened to great acclaim and quickly became San Antonio's finest luxury hotel. When Kennedy sold these two properties in 2006, he retained ownership of the Watermark® brand and renamed the company, Watermark Hotel Company, Inc.
The Watermark Hotel Company brings the same commitment, vision and style to its newest stand alone restaurants, Brasserie Pavil, a classic French brasserie that opened in December 2008, and its newest restaurant, Watermark Grill, a seafood restaurant featuring the freshest fish from around the world, which is expected to open in the fall 2009.
